111  And behold, the high priests should travel, and also the elders, and also the lesser priests; but the deacons and teachers should be appointed to watch over the church, to be standing ministers unto the church.

  23  Be thou diligent to know the state of thy ^aflocks, and look well to thy herds.

  25  In meekness ^binstructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

  4  And after they had been received unto baptism, and were wrought upon and cleansed by the power of the Holy Ghost, they were numbered among the people of the church of Christ; and their names were taken, that they might be remembered and nourished by the good word of God, to keep them in the right way, to keep them continually ^dwatchful unto prayer, relying alone upon the merits of Christ, who was the author and the finisher of their faith.

  86  And also the duty of the president over the office of the ^ateachers is to preside over twenty-four of the teachers, and to sit in council with them, teaching them the duties of their office, as given in the covenants.
