9  Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ^cways of the Lord are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.

  10  And again, believe that ye must repent of your sins and forsake them, and humble yourselves before God; and ask in sincerity of heart that he would forgive you; and now, if you believe all these things see that ye ^edo them.

  4  And after they had been received unto baptism, and were wrought upon and cleansed by the power of the Holy Ghost, they were numbered among the people of the church of Christ; and their names were taken, that they might be remembered and nourished by the good word of God, to keep them in the right way, to keep them continually watchful unto prayer, ^erelying alone upon the merits of Christ, who was the author and the finisher of their faith.

  20  And that the Lamanites might come to the knowledge of their fathers, and that they might know the promises of the Lord, and that they may believe the gospel and ^drely upon the merits of Jesus Christ, and be glorified through faith in his name, and that through their repentance they might be saved. Amen.

  53  And the Lord said: Blessed is he through whose seed Messiah shall come; for he saith—I am Messiah, the King of Zion, the Rock of Heaven, which is broad as eternity; whoso cometh in at the gate and ^eclimbeth up by me shall never fall; wherefore, blessed are they of whom I have spoken, for they shall come forth with songs of everlasting joy.

  13  Enter ye in at the ^astrait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
