19  When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and ^aunderstandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

  17  These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the ^bmist of darkness is reserved for ever.

  17  And the ^amists of darkness are the temptations of the devil, which blindeth the eyes, and hardeneth the hearts of the children of men, and leadeth them away into broad roads, that they perish and are lost.

  24  And I said unto them that it was the word of God; and whoso would hearken unto the word of God, and would hold fast unto it, they would never perish; neither could the ^ctemptations and the fiery darts of the adversary overpower them unto blindness, to lead them away to destruction.
