22  Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:

  12  Behold, I say unto you, that the house of Israel was compared unto an olive tree, by the Spirit of the Lord which was in our father; and behold are we not broken off from the house of Israel, and are we not a ^abranch of the house of Israel?

  5  Wherefore, Joseph truly saw our day. And he obtained a promise of the Lord, that out of the fruit of his loins the Lord God would raise up a righteous branch unto the house of Israel; not the Messiah, but a branch which was to be broken off, nevertheless, to be remembered in the covenants of the Lord that the Messiah should be made manifest unto them in the latter days, in the spirit of power, unto the bringing of them out of darkness unto light—yea, out of hidden darkness and out of captivity unto freedom.

  3  For behold, thus saith the Lord, I will liken thee, O house of Israel, like unto a tame ^bolive tree, which a man took and nourished in his vineyard; and it grew, and waxed old, and began to decay.

  1  And now, behold, my brethren, as I said unto you that I would prophesy, behold, this is my prophecy—that the things which this prophet Zenos spake, concerning the house of Israel, in the which he likened them unto a tame ^bolive tree, must surely come to pass.

  26  I said, I would ^ascatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men:

  3  Wherefore, the things of which I have read are things pertaining to things both temporal and spiritual; for it appears that the house of Israel, sooner or later, will be ^bscattered upon all the face of the earth, and also among all nations.

  24  Therefore will I ^ascatter them as the stubble that passeth away by the wind of the wilderness.

  7  And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to ^bscatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

  8  Israel is ^aswallowed up: now shall they be among the Gentiles as a vessel wherein is no pleasure.

  6  Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the Lord: for I have ^bspread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the Lord.

  13  And these will I ^aplace in the nethermost part of my vineyard, whithersoever I will, it mattereth not unto thee; and I do it that I may preserve unto myself the natural branches of the tree; and also, that I may lay up fruit thereof against the season, unto myself; for it grieveth me that I should lose this tree and the fruit thereof.

  15  And also that the seed of this people may more fully believe his gospel, which shall go forth unto them from the Gentiles; for this people shall be ^cscattered, and shall become a dark, a filthy, and a loathsome people, beyond the description of that which ever hath been amongst us, yea, even that which hath been among the Lamanites, and this because of their unbelief and idolatry.

  17  For as ye have looked upon the long absence of your spirits from your bodies to be a bondage, I will show unto you how the day of redemption shall come, and also the restoration of the ^dscattered Israel.

  24  And this I have told you concerning Jerusalem; and when that day shall come, shall a remnant be ^ascattered among all nations;
