16  And I had faith, and I did cry unto God that he would preserve the records; and he covenanted with me that he would bring ^dthem forth unto the Lamanites in his own due time.

  12  Now ^athese things are written unto the remnant of the house of Jacob; and they are written after this manner, because it is known of God that wickedness will not bring them forth unto them; and they are to be hid up unto the Lord that they may come forth in his own due time.

  9  For behold, ^athis is written for the intent that ye may believe that; and if ye believe that ye will believe this also; and if ye believe this ye will know concerning your fathers, and also the marvelous works which were wrought by the power of God among them.
