1 Nephi 19:7
7 For the things which some men esteem to be of great worth, both to the body and soul, others set at anaught and trample under their feet. Yea, even the very God of Israel do men btrample under their feet; I say, trample under their feet but I would speak in other words—they set him at naught, and chearken not to the voice of his counsels.

31  Because he hath adespised the word of the Lord, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him.

2  But behold, there are many that aharden their hearts against the Holy Spirit, that it hath no place in them; wherefore, they cast many things away which are written and esteem them as things of naught.

14  But behold, the Jews were a stiffnecked people; and they bdespised the words of plainness, and killed the prophets, and sought for things that they could not understand. Wherefore, because of their blindness, which blindness came by looking beyond the mark, they must needs fall; for God hath taken away his plainness from them, and delivered unto them many things which they cannot understand, because they desired it. And because they desired it God hath done it, that they may stumble.

7  For, behold, you should not have feared man more than God. Although men set at naught the counsels of God, and bdespise his words—

19  And as for my flock, they eat that which ye have atrodden with your feet; and they drink that which ye have fouled with your feet.

35  Having denied the Holy Spirit after having received it, and having denied the Only Begotten Son of the Father, having bcrucified him unto themselves and put him to an open shame.

31  And now behold, he had got great hold upon the hearts of the Nephites; yea, insomuch that they had become exceedingly wicked; yea, the more part of them had turned out of the way of righteousness, and did btrample under their feet the commandments of God, and did turn unto their own ways, and did build up unto themselves idols of their gold and their silver.
