1  For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

  24  Therefore, as the fire devoureth the ^bstubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, their root shall be rottenness, and their blossoms shall go up as dust; because they have cast away the law of the Lord of Hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

  6  And they shall be visited with thunderings, and lightnings, and earthquakes, and all manner of destructions, for the fire of the anger of the Lord shall be kindled against them, and they shall be as stubble, and the day that cometh shall consume them, saith the Lord of Hosts.

  24  For after today cometh the burning—this is speaking after the manner of the Lord—for verily I say, tomorrow all the proud and they that do wickedly shall be as stubble; and I will burn them up, for I am the Lord of Hosts; and I will not spare any that remain in Babylon.

  64  And also that which was written by the prophet Malachi: For, behold, the day cometh that shall ^cburn as an oven, and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble; and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

  23-24  Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!

  10  For while they be folden together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.

  5  Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the ^bstubble, as a strong people set in battle array.

  9  Thou shalt make them as a ^afiery oven in the time of thine anger: the Lord shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.

  9  For the hour is nigh and the day soon at hand when the earth is ripe; and all the proud and they that do wickedly shall be as stubble; and I will ^dburn them up, saith the Lord of Hosts, that wickedness shall not be upon the earth;

  26  And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands as bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the ^csinner shall be taken by her.
