8  They have turned aside ^bquickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

  17  And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they went a whoring after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned ^cquickly out of the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of the Lord; but they did not so.

  26  For behold, they saw that the strength of the Lamanites was as great as their strength, even man for man. And thus had they fallen into this great transgression; yea, thus had they become weak, because of their transgression, in the space of ^bnot many years.

  32  And it came to pass that all these iniquities did come unto them in the space of ^anot many years, insomuch that a more part of it had come unto them in the sixty and seventh year of the reign of the judges over the people of Nephi.

  2  Yea, and we may see at the very ^atime when he doth prosper his people, yea, in the increase of their fields, their flocks and their herds, and in gold, and in silver, and in all manner of precious things of every kind and art; sparing their lives, and delivering them out of the hands of their enemies; softening the hearts of their enemies that they should not declare wars against them; yea, and in fine, doing all things for the welfare and happiness of his people; yea, then is the time that they do harden their hearts, and do forget the Lord their God, and do trample under their feet the Holy One—yea, and this because of their ease, and their exceedingly great prosperity.

  12  Then beware lest thou ^aforget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

  29  And now I say unto you that it was expedient that there should be a law given to the children of Israel, yea, even a very strict law; for they were a stiffnecked people, ^bquick to do iniquity, and slow to remember the Lord their God;

  38  And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not ^aforget; neither shall ye fear other gods.

  33  Howbeit thou art just in all that is brought upon us; for thou hast done right, but we have done ^bwickedly:

  15  For can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may ^cforget, yet will I not forget thee, O house of Israel.

  8  In the day of their peace they esteemed lightly my counsel; but, in the day of their ^atrouble, of necessity they feel after me.

  2  The Lord who shall suddenly come to his temple; the Lord who shall come down upon the world with a curse to judgment; yea, upon all the nations that ^cforget God, and upon all the ungodly among you.
