15  So I took the chief of your tribes, ^awise men, and known, and made them heads over you, captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, and captains over fifties, and captains over tens, and officers among your tribes.

  5  And he set ^ajudges in the land throughout all the fenced cities of Judah, city by city,

  3  The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the ^cfear of God.

  9  And he charged them, saying, Thus shall ye do in the ^afear of the Lord, faithfully, and with a perfect heart.

  2  That I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the palace, charge over Jerusalem: for he was a faithful man, and ^cfeared God above many.

  13  Therefore, if it were possible that you could have just men to be your kings, who would establish the ^claws of God, and judge this people according to his commandments, yea, if ye could have men for your kings who would do even as my father Benjamin did for this people—I say unto you, if this could always be the case then it would be expedient that ye should always have kings to rule over you.

  19  Thou shalt not wrest judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, neither take a ^cgift: for a gift doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous.

  3  And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took ^abribes, and perverted judgment.

  7  Wherefore now let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the Lord our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of ^bgifts.

  3  Let the companies be organized with captains of ^ahundreds, captains of fifties, and captains of tens, with a president and his two counselors at their head, under the direction of the Twelve Apostles.
