16  Go, and gather the ^aelders of Israel together, and say unto them, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt:

  22  And he spake unto me concerning the elders of the Jews, he knowing that his master, Laban, had been out by night among them.

  1  And now it came to pass that after Alma had made an end of speaking unto the people of the church, which was established in the city of Zarahemla, he ordained priests and elders, by laying on his hands according to the order of God, to preside and watch over the church.

  7  And they were strict to observe that there should be no iniquity among them; and whoso was found to commit iniquity, and three witnesses of the church did condemn them before the ^celders, and if they repented not, and confessed not, their names were blotted out, and they were not numbered among the people of Christ.
