20  And thus in the commencement of the ninth year of the reign of the judges over the people of Nephi, Alma delivered up the judgment-seat to Nephihah, and confined himself wholly to the ^bhigh priesthood of the holy order of God, to the testimony of the word, according to the spirit of revelation and prophecy.

  23  And after he had eaten and was filled he said unto Amulek: I am Alma, and am the ^ahigh priest over the church of God throughout the land.

  13  And when he had said these words, the Spirit of the Lord was upon him, and he said: Helam, I baptize thee, having ^bauthority from the Almighty God, as a testimony that ye have entered into a covenant to serve him until you are dead as to the mortal body; and may the Spirit of the Lord be poured out upon you; and may he grant unto you eternal life, through the redemption of Christ, whom he has prepared from the foundation of the world.

  25  Having ^aauthority given me of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.

  4  And it came to pass that as many as did believe him did go forth to a ^aplace which was called Mormon, having received its name from the king, being in the borders of the land having been infested, by times or at seasons, by wild beasts.

  12  And behold, I am called Mormon, being called after the ^bland of Mormon, the land in which Alma did establish the church among the people, yea, the first church which was established among them after their transgression.

  13  Yea, and that same God did establish his church among them; yea, and that same God hath called me by a ^aholy calling, to preach the word unto this people, and hath given me much success, in the which my joy is full.
