51  And Joseph called the name of the firstborn ^aManasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father's house.

  1  There was also a lot for the tribe of ^aManasseh; for he was the firstborn of Joseph; to wit, for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead: because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan.

  14  The sons of ^aManasseh; Ashriel, whom she bare: (but his concubine the Aramitess bare Machir the father of Gilead:

  3  And in Jerusalem dwelt of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin, and of the children of Ephraim, and ^aManasseh;

  14  And it came to pass that my father, Lehi, also found upon the plates of brass a genealogy of his fathers; wherefore he knew that he was a descendant of ^dJoseph; yea, even that Joseph who was the son of Jacob, who was sold into Egypt, and who was preserved by the hand of the Lord, that he might preserve his father, Jacob, and all his household from perishing with famine.

  36  And the Midianites ^asold him into Egypt unto Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh's, and captain of the guard.

  9  And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and the ^astrangers with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon: for they fell to him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that the Lord his God was with him.

  2  Know ye that ye are of the ^ahouse of Israel.

  13  Behold, I make an end of speaking concerning this people. I am the son of Mormon, and my father was a ^adescendant of Nephi.
