D&C 3:7
7 For, behold, you should not have afeared man more than God. Although men set at naught the counsels of God, and bdespise his words—

Footnotes   ?

13  Therefore was he hired, that I should be aafraid, and do so, and sin, and that they might have matter for an evil report, that they might reproach me.

1  The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I cfear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

11  And of whom hast thou been afraid or afeared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor laid it to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not?

26  For whosoever shall be aashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.

43  For they loved the apraise of men more than the praise of God.

19  But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to ahearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.

9  Therefore, hold on thy way, and the priesthood shall remain with thee; for their bounds are set, they cannot pass. Thy days are known, and thy years shall not be numbered less; therefore, efear not what man can do, for God shall be with you forever and ever.

31  Because he hath adespised the word of the Lord, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him.

9  Wherefore hast thou adespised the commandment of the Lord, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.

7  For the things which some men esteem to be of great worth, both to the body and soul, others set at anaught and trample under their feet. Yea, even the very God of Israel do men trample under their feet; I say, trample under their feet but I would speak in other words—they set him at naught, and hearken not to the voice of his counsels.

2  But behold, there are many that aharden their hearts against the Holy Spirit, that it hath no place in them; wherefore, they cast many things away which are written and esteem them as things of naught.

14  But behold, the Jews were a stiffnecked people; and they bdespised the words of plainness, and killed the prophets, and sought for things that they could not understand. Wherefore, because of their blindness, which blindness came by looking beyond the mark, they must needs fall; for God hath taken away his plainness from them, and delivered unto them many things which they cannot understand, because they desired it. And because they desired it God hath done it, that they may stumble.

10  Take acounsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.

28  And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather bfear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

8  Behold, great and marvelous are the works of the Lord. How unsearchable are the depths of the mysteries of him; and it is impossible that man should find out all his ways. And no man knoweth of his ways save it be revealed unto him; wherefore, brethren, despise not the frevelations of God.
