21  And others will he pacify, and lull them away into carnal security, that they will say: All is well in Zion; yea, Zion prospereth, all is well—and thus the ^cdevil cheateth their souls, and leadeth them away carefully down to hell.

  8  And now, my beloved brethren, I perceive that ye ponder still in your hearts; and it grieveth me that I must speak concerning this thing. For if ye would hearken unto the Spirit which teacheth a man to pray, ye would know that ye must pray; for the ^devil spirit teacheth not a man to pray, but teacheth him that he must not pray.

  32  But, O my people, beware lest there shall arise contentions among you, and ye list to obey the evil spirit, which was spoken of by my father Mosiah.

  14  And ye will not suffer your children that they go hungry, or naked; neither will ye suffer that they transgress the laws of God, and fight and quarrel one with another, and serve the devil, who is the master of sin, or who is the evil spirit which hath been spoken of by our fathers, he being an enemy to all righteousness.

  42  Behold, I know that thou believest, but thou art possessed with a lying spirit, and ye have put off the Spirit of God that it may have no place in you; but the devil has power over you, and he doth carry you about, working devices that he may destroy the children of God.

  6  For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

  24  The way of life is ^aabove to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.

  19  As righteousness tendeth to ^alife: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.
