13  And it came to pass that the Lamanites did take possession of the city Desolation, and this because their ^anumber did exceed the number of the Nephites.

  6  And it came to pass that in the three hundred and eightieth year the Lamanites did come again against us to battle, and we did stand against them boldly; but it was all in vain, for so ^agreat were their numbers that they did tread the people of the Nephites under their feet.

  11  And thus he cut off all the strongholds of the Lamanites in the east wilderness, yea, and also on the west, fortifying the line between the Nephites and the Lamanites, between the land of Zarahemla and the land of Nephi, from the west sea, running by the head of the river Sidon—the Nephites possessing all the land ^bnorthward, yea, even all the land which was northward of the land Bountiful, according to their pleasure.

  29  And the Lamanites did give unto us the land ^anorthward, yea, even to the narrow passage which led into the land southward. And we did give unto the Lamanites all the land southward.
