12  And he desired of Laban the records which were engraven upon the plates of brass, which contained the ^agenealogy of my father.

  14  And it came to pass that my father, Lehi, also found upon the plates of brass a ^bgenealogy of his fathers; wherefore he knew that he was a descendant of Joseph; yea, even that Joseph who was the son of Jacob, who was sold into Egypt, and who was preserved by the hand of the Lord, that he might preserve his father, Jacob, and all his household from perishing with famine.

  1  The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is ^agraven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;

  24  And it came to pass that we went in unto Laban, and desired him that he would give unto us the records which were engraven upon the ^aplates of brass, for which we would give unto him our gold, and our silver, and all our precious things.

  14  And they discovered a people, who were called the people of Zarahemla. Now, there was great rejoicing among the people of Zarahemla; and also Zarahemla did rejoice exceedingly, because the Lord had sent the people of Mosiah with the ^bplates of brass which contained the record of the Jews.
